The theme of this campus mural is the history and heritage of New Asia. From the time when the ancestors of New Asia went south to the completion of the Nong Po Road campus, and even today, they have taken root in CUHK and are all depicted in the paintings. I hope students can understand the history of New Asia and inherit the humanistic spirit of New Asia.

To this end, a sketching activity was held, and the historical changes of the college and the community were narrated at the same time, so that students could have a deeper understanding of their daily lives and the places they pass through when observing and drawing. The school’s design workshops focus on inheriting Chinese painting culture. Using charcoal to copy the trees in the classic landscape painting textbook "Mustard Seed Garden", you can focus on learning to draw the shapes of trees and figures.

This community beautification will use an old-style tea house as the theme, redesigning the appearance of the food stalls, using the paper-coated stone floor with rich Hong Kong characteristics as the background, setting off the birds and flowers of the same color. Guan Fong Food Stall once engaged in the business of buying and selling birds and bird cages, and the previous stall owner also had the skills to make bird cages. Although the stall will be transformed into selling bamboo handicrafts, the birds and birdcages still play a very important role in the story of the stall owner and his family. Without the real bird, let the bird fly into the painting and continue to accompany the stall owner in opening and closing the stall every day.

Chen Nanchang is a special school where the children have moderate intellectual disabilities, but this does not hinder their creativity. We held a workshop on three-dimensional mural design, allowing students to draw various animals, flowers and characters, and then put their works into the design. Considering that the viewing space in the stairwell is narrow, the three-dimensional effect we added effectively brings the viewing angle to the lobby and also adds interest.
